I think I am right when I say it is needless to talk about human harmfulness. We all know what we do to nature which surrounds us and to creatures living in it. We are destroying woods just to build new roads; we are killing great number of animals just to satisfy our appetite, we are polluting air just to travel faster and more comfortable and we are polluting water as well just to have oil which is needed for all other things. Even the smallest quantity of liquid petroleum hydrocarbon released into the environment is due to human activities. Even though it is not the only harm we do, it is probably the worst form of pollution as the oil spills take months or even years to! clean up. It is dangerous not only for fishes, birds and other sea animals, but also for us, for our future life and what is more, lives of our children. The oil has ability to penetrate up the structure of the plumage of birds and fur of marine mammals what causes that their insulating ability is reduced. They are also more vulnerable to temperature fluctuations and their locomotive faculties are slower and they move with more difficulties. Oil can cause kidney damage, alteration of liver function and irritation of digestive tract. If there is no human intervention, animals affected by an oil spill may die very quickly. Just like a huge number of jellyfishes and turtles along the beach on an island at the southern end of the Mississippi. Even though there is no certainty the animals died as a result of the oil spill that was leaking from damaged British Petroleum’s deepwater well, number of dead animals found so far is beyond normal.
