Car bomb that was left in Times Square is filling all New York newspapers and magazines and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg swears they will capture whoever was behind this bomb threat. According to Bloomberg’s words, all city agencies are working together and do their best, just like federal agencies to get the culprit. Although the bomb was a crude concoction of ordinary items such as fireworks, fuel and fertilizer, authorities still believe it was meant not only cause mayhem in the heart of Times Square, but also hurt. As Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said: “it was the intent to create casualties.” The gasoline-and-propane bomb could not only ! produce fireball what would cause chaos, but it could also spray shrapnel and metal parts with enough force to kill pedestrians. It has already become a tradition, that any kind of attack is ascribed to Taliban which almost always (sometimes even falsely) confirms these accusations. Taliban claimed responsibility also this time. According three videos surfaced after the weekend scare, it was Taliban who is responsible for that bomb; however police have no evidence to support these claims. On the other hand, unidentified white man is suspected of this failed attack. A man in his 40s was seen slipping down an alley and taking off his shirt which was later furtively put in a bag. Except this surveillance video, there are “hundreds of hours” of security videotape material from around Times Square which is examined now by the NYPD and FBI, Kelly said. There are also many witnesses and tourists that will be interviewed. Well, Bloomberg has a lot to do to fulfill the p! romise.
