20 days have passed since the oil rig explosion in Mexican Gulf and the consequences are disasterous. So far no human effort of machine activity was able to stop the oil flow polluting the sea. The oil has reached the shores of four countries. It was larger than many small Europeans countries. 11 oil rig workers died and thousands of thousands, perhaps millions are about the feel consequences. The animals got caught in the oil and most of them couldn't move or breathe and died. The whole area has turned into grey-orange wasteland, something one could have seen in sci-fi movies. 20 days have passed since the biggest environmental catastrophe hit the U.S. and Carribean region! and still, there've been no exact and clear information about the explosion. So far, we have heard that BP company did own the rig, but it was run by American company Transocean. Transocean moved to Switzerland because of more favorable business conditions. BP, however as the owner accepted the responsibility, but it seems it may have not enough money if it comes to pay for damages.According to press, it was the first rig that went to the service with no time-loss accidents. Some were requesting security standards. Generally BP was having stable portfolio and good image. Transocean that wasn't very often mentioned in the press made no comment on this situation.Just one day before accident, contractors from Halliburton Energy Services Inc. were on 5,000 feet underwater mission, cementing the well's pipes. Strangely the place nearing the pipes broke down and exploded. It exploded just in time everybody up there was celebrating the successfull run of the rig. But what else do! we know? What was the cause of the explosion? Each rig has to! have st rict safety conditions and there have been not a lot of cases of broken pipes. According several experts on underwater drilling methods such accident was more than rarely interesting.
