Dolly Passing American Mexican Borders
by Milota Sidorova

No doubt, the hurricane season 2008 has been in full action. As we have heard Hurricane Dolly, the second hurricane striking Mexican Gulf area this year has made landfall about 25 miles on border line between Texas and Mexico counties. Thunderstorms and winds of speed more than 90 mph rounding the eye brought 20 inches of rain, massive power cut offs and evacuation of approximately thousands of citizens.

Despite huge loss on power lines and water services, no one has died during the beasting night July 23rd. Dolly, the first tycoon landing on American coast since last September fast forming Humberto is the 26th hurricane to do so since the file record in 1851.

According official reports, broken power lines cut off more than 56,200 customers in three border regions and upcoming Dolly will affect at least 1,5 million Texans.

Few minutes after 8 p.m. the hurricane epicenter begun to move slowly to into the northwest, gradually
weakening into the tropical storm. Thpusands of Texans so Mexicans had to be evacuated, however, there's been so much to do on Mexican part. Many of them simply didn't want to leave their poor wooden huts, almost comically facing the natural element. So it did tough job to find stubborn families, hiding inside destroyed ruins.

However, many did find a shelter in several Texas schools, in the safe distance of the storm. Due the evacuation, border patrol has launched one extra line to check the passing crowds. Naturally, even this gesture of good will can be abused.
Police has found up to 8000 pounds of marijuana, premediately hidden among the refugees. Well, that's what I call – not wasting the time, nor the chance.

Apart from this, Dolly, now the tropical storm is expected to weaken as passing into the land. There's still flooding emergency in the befallen Rio Grande Valley, however, the situation seems to get better now. Except of Dolly, the National Meteorological Institute forecasts minimum of 12 tropical storms, from which at least 2 will transform into the hurricans.
