American Thanksgiving day has few hundred year tradition in this continent. History of the day when they wish to give thanks or be thankful is connected with life of the first greenhorns coming to the new country. As they didn't know how to survive in the country, they needed someone to explain them how is it going on there. Authentic citizens showed them how to treat the country, so the country can consequently enrich them. Eventually they knew how to cultivate the land and as a thank they prepared celebration with next year harvest they produced themselves, for their teachers. Since then Americans celebrate the Thanksgiving annually.The celebration looks much different nowadays. There are still traditions such as turkey dinner with some other traditional food additions within the families but there is also huge commercial meaning of the holiday. The most famous is the Macy's Thanksgiving parade in New York City with enormous helium balloons of all the cartoons every kid knows. The experience is amazing. There are a lot of famous people invited to perform a little piece of their art and thousands of people take a part in long parade going through the center of the city.The most important and vital part of the Thanksgiving is somewhere else though. After big parties in the cities, after celebrating in the towns, people go home and make a traditional dinner. That is the part where they can get silent and thank for their lives, for their families, for their homes and food they have. Because the world can be also poor and cruel and there are a lot of people who miss the basics for living. It is important to realize that all we have, we need to thank for! I guess that is the first meaning of the Thanksgiving Day and I hope there are still people who don't just loudly celebrate on the streets but also celebrate inside of them, and in the quiet thank for all they have.
