There is special kind of turtles living mostly in the California and Hawaii cost. They are called loggerhead sea turtles. Loggerheads are already classified as threatened species under the federal Endangered Species Act, but the environmentalist and nature protectors think that higher level of protection is needed.Loggerheads are characterized by a lagre head with blunt jaws and five scutes along the middle of the carapace. Adults grow to an average weight about 100 kg, and can reach 1 m in length. This kind of turtles is very unusual and they are the only living member of the genus Carreta. Characteristic feature about them is their nesting habit almost always at the same place where they were born themselves. "Normal part of the population" almost never think about some turtles living far away in the deepness of the sea. Fortunatelly there are some special people who sacrificed their life to protection of endangered animals that are in jeopardy of their extinction. Living in the innocent ocean is not as easy and natural as it was before. Turtles need to face the danger of fishermen who very often hurt them with loaded fishing hooks or mesh them into their nets that they put along the beaches in the length of 60 miles or more and so there is possibility to get enmeshed in the net and become unable to get out.The nature is different today and aminals have much more difficult life than ever. It's up to us, who make their lives more complicated, to help them survive and enable to propagate themselves freely and safely.
