More than 100,000 households were blackout and had no power because power lines was snapping under layer of ice thick much than one inch. "It looks like a war zone."said Ed Betinger, spokesman for Public Service Company. Many schools in Oklahoma were closed and hospitals were dependent on a backup power generators. The Federal Emergency Management Agency and Army Corps of Engineers sent generators and bottled water from Texas to the most destroyed areas.Greyhound bus passengers were made to stay overnight in church in Tulsa with some local residents who has no heat. Many flights had to be canceled because airports in Oklahoma were closed or with no power for more than 10 hours. It can take a week or more until a power will be completely restore for everyone. The icy weather moved to the Northeast, schools in New York were closed or started late because of icy roads.
