What kind of thoughts did pass trough Christopher “Dudus” Coke's mind on the way to the U.S. embassy, before he gave himself to the authorities? What made him walked just into the lion's cage, into the process that could really end up only in a prison life-time? Was he just deperate, couldn't he use any other choice to escape? Or did he really believed it could bring him kind of oblivion?Christopher Coke was one of the most influential drug gang leader operating in the slums of Kingston. For many years, he's been suspected by U.S. authorities for drug even weapon smuggling. But it seems he wasn't only one, according many sources local government helped organize ! the gangs that took the power in the streets of slum parts of the city. Political ties were leading to the highest positions, even Prime Minister Bruce Golding was accused from backing up gang policies. That almost ended fatal for Golding who promised to leave the free passage for gang's menhunt, including Coke. Prime Minister saved his own skin, hanging up another's. Next actions resulted into a $60,000 offer reward for catching Coke and the streets of Tivoli Gardens (one of West Kingston's slums) became a battlefield. During four-day manhunt police clashed the gang supporters and black statistics increased 76 deads. Finally, the situation ends with dramatic, yet surprising end. Coke entrusts Rev. Al Miller, influential evangelical preacher to deal his volunatary arrest at the U.S. Embassy. That is the only place Coke considers safe. Right now he faces the trial in New York and probably the fate of his father Jim Brown, the gang leader, caught and prisoned till his death ! in the fire in 1992.
