What more to say about oil spill that threats Gulf of Mexico? When the whole case started, culprit was known and information about how quickly will it be stopped were satisfying us. But now when we see pictures from that area, there is nothing more than anger and one question that is still worrying us: how could this happen? US President Barack Obama said what people living in affected area already know – they have to face a long battle against an “epidemic” of oil pollution. Obama repeated himself when he vowed to do whatever was necessary to help the people of the southern US coast recover from the disaster and unveiled a “battle plan” to cle! an up a massive oil slick. His words saying: “We will fight this spill with everything we’ve got for as long it takes” only prove Obama is a good speaker. But is he also such a good activist? Constant pointing at responsibility of British Petroleum will help neither Americans nor their President. He says the oil disaster showed the need for a new generation energy policy which should be based on renewable sources of power. But why this question always comes on program when similar catastrophe like this one in Gulf of Mexico happens? As Obama said: “Today, as we look to the Gulf, we see an entire way of life being threatened by a menacing cloud of black crude.” but what will happen when this “cloud of black crude” will be cleaned and won’t be seen anymore? Will be the necessity of “clean energy future” still actual?
