A historic shake-up in Air Force by Lucia Hrusovska

There have been some problems appeared recently in the Air Force. As we all know, not only from American action movies, an Air force, in some countries also called an army air corps in the past, is in the broadest sense, is the traditional military or armed service that primarily conducts aerial warfare. A current defense secretary of the United States of America, Robert Gates was forced to ousted a first level military and civilian leaders as well, because of recent mix-ups connected a nuclear material, which were really very embarrassing, taking into consideration whole significance and a respect of such an organization as the Air Force should represent. Robert Gates also accepted the resignation of Air Force Chief of Staff General Micheal Moseley and the resignation of Air Force secretary Michael Wynne, which came after a springing up of these troubles. Although, a double firing of two people on such high posts is relatively unexpected and pretty unusual, both of them Michael Moseley and also Michael Wynne were partly responsible for that, so there is no wonder they finally decided to resign on their posts. A mistake, which was caused also partly by these two people, was connected with a wrong shipment addressed to Taiwan of four Air Force electrical fuses for ballistic missile warheads. He also mentioned a similar case, which happened in August last year. At that time bomber B-52 was armed with six nuclear cruise missiles, which was a mistake of a huge proportion. According to this, it seems, there is lingering problem relative to a lack of an effective leadership in Air Force.
