Along Iowa`s Cedar River were ordered flood evacuations

After overflowing of Iowa`s Cedar River the citizens of towns lying along the river were ordered to evacuate. Levee on Cedar River was protected by sandbags but officials called for extra volunteers to help them. Waterloo which lies downstream ordered immediate evacuation of about 60 homes and businesses. In Cedar rapids also more than 200 citizens were evacuate from homes which lies near the river. Town between Cedar Falls and Cedar Rapids was on Wednesday without electricity because of rising water which affected city`s power plant. The culmination of Cedar River was expected during the night and they expected also flooding downtown area of the city though the spokeswoman said that sandbags should held.Overflowing of Cedar River threaten also towns along Mississippi River, so they were warned that they can expect flood crests. The National Weather service has predict crests of about 10 feet along Mississippi River and also higher numbers in the Missouri and Illinois. Towns along Mississippi are protected by dams, but areas which lie further from them could be deluged.In Wisconsin this month they had a record in rain falling so they monitored each dam. They also planned to ease pressure on dams by draining some reservoirs behind Primmer Dam.Officials in Wisconsin are also worried about plant losses. One county announced yet the losses in $5.5 million in soybeans, corn and hays. On Wednesday in Indiana one levee was burst and was flooded a lot of farmland.People in Minnesota hoped that last weekend's flooding wouldn't repeat.Minnesota and and North Dakota were affected by the strong winds. Because of it the officials had to close some roads. Near Valley City a barn was damaged and a cow was sent into the air.
