Fire at the root of Los Angeles mountains by Lenka Filipova

The foothills of the Los Angeles brushes were in flames on Sunday. The blaze forced more than 1,000 people living in the surroundings to move away. It was quite serious disaster when to reckon that there is only the beginning the wildfire season.The fire was for the first time recorded on the Saturday afternoon in the woods only few miles northeast of Pasadena. At that time, the weather was rather untypical because the temperature reached surprisingly 100 degrees and the wind was quite blowing. Consequently, the blaze was difficult to take over. Hence, it augmented to inhabited areas. The first evacuation came at 11 in the evening. The fire took over more than 350 acres, thus requiring a fine number of firemen to extinguish it. There were 450 firefighters, supported by 2 helicopters and water-dropping air tankers. According to the reports by Elisa Weaver, the spokeswoman for the Arcadia Fire Department, they managed to evacuate without any damage approximately 550 dwellings on Saturday night and on Sunday. In addition to this, she expressed her worries about the blaze in that area, as there had not been the fire for over 40 years. That is why, everyone was really shocked and stunned by the burning foothills. The fire extended to the outskirts of Sierra Madre and continued furthermore feeding on easily flammable brushes. The firefighters expect it to linger for another two or three days as the winds are getting calm in these days. Till this time no serious injuries or damages were reported.
