Wikileaks pushing an Avalanche...
by Milota Sidorova

Guardian reporter Heather Brooke has written a phenomenal essay about data leaks that made a big hole in the wall of „security, alibism, control and transparency“. In her oppinion, leaks are not the problem, but the symptom and what is echoed out so disgustingly loud by U.S. Secretary Hillary Clinton is not the main point. Although Clinton suggested that Washinghton prepared hammer and iron lady for those who contributed in data espionage, it is just a buzz to cover the real problem. So long have politicians been hiding even the most brutal actions, so long they tried to control what people should know. All these practices were covered with so called „secu! rity“ steps – but they went much too far. Brooke is right if she says that „Wikileaks is the guerilla front in a global movement for greater transparency and participation.“ So perhaps we can skip talks about security and terrorist threats and focus on practically non-existing transparency in case of political affairs. One does not speak about numbers, but about thousands of thousands murderers, policies leading into financial enslavement and increasing security (means control) steps towards public. Clinton wastes her time blaming U.S. soldiers of stealing data, but she has virtually no answer to crimes that are very well described on these files. Washinghton proclaimed it was neccessary to increase security check and data stability of its own communication – well apparently it wasn't. Braddly Manning who is now kept in a maximum-security military brig at Quantico will face military trial for espionage. One guess the case won't finish with hap! py-end. Wikileaks hail him a hero. According to Manning himsel! f, he di dn't feel guilty and said that Pentagon security manners were just „weak servers, weak logging, weak physical security, weak counterintelligence, inattentive signal analysis, resulting in a perfect storm." Guardian reporter finishes her article with powerful message – now is the time shaping the face of democracy. In the next five years these rules will be done and will probably affect whole new century. For us it is a crucial time – either we react and push on politicians for bigger transparency or we finish as controled, enslaved, consum mass. This time is now!
