Dangerous Beauty by Kamila Moravcikova

Imagine that you're in a situation that you could choose place you are going to live (and forget all the problems such as "moving and living there is little too expensive", "I would for sure die without my family and friends being around", "no way I'm changing my current job" etc. Let's use the gift of abstraction to pretend all your buddies and the job of your dreams will be there waiting for you). What place would it be? What would you choose if you could? For example, I love sun. What about California? I love gentle breeze playing with my hair, sitting on the beach, having perfect tan, enjoying sunny days, no need to wear four layers of clothes to keep me warm. Sounds like being in heaven, doesn't it? My picture of perfect place was suddenly destroyed by some important facts I forgot to involve. Storms? Mudslides? Fires? Earthquakes? Those don't fit into my idea of perfect place to live. Let's follow the sun. Florida?! Hurricanes? Well, when I'm thinking about it, I can admit that living in mountains has its magic and I always wanted to improve my skiing skills. What about moving higher? What?! Snowstorms? Avalanches? I tried to find any attractive place to live without any weather disaster waiting for a chance to show me its power. Well, I'd rather stay home without abstracting and pretending. What if being wonderful means being dangerous in some way? Like a "beauty toll" you have to pay?
